Laura M. Evarts, RN, BSN

Laura M. Evarts, South Cannan, died early Christmas morning in the VNA Hospice at the Geisinger Community Medical Center.

Born in South Canaan, she was the daughter of the late David Evarts and Laura E. Seeley Evarts.   She was a graduate of the Lake Consolidated School, the CMC School of Nursing and she earned a BA of Science from Wilkes University.   She was of the Protestant faith.   Prior to her retirement she had been employed by the Community Medical Center as a registered nurse for over 40 years.

Laura enjoyed baking, crocheting and shopping. Most of all she loved spending time with her nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Shadow.

Surviving are sisters  Maryann Amorine and her husband Ronald and Kathy Faller and her husband William all of South Canaan;  brothers David Evarts and his wife Thelma of lake Ariel, John Evarts and his wife Nancy of Hollisterville and Mike Evarts and his wife Mary of Honesdale.

Her many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews will always fondly remembered their Aunt Lol.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4:30 pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Friends may call Sunday from 2pm until time of service.

Interment will be private in East Canaan Cemetery.
