Cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory in the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17th at 11:00am in Cannan Bible Chapel, 30 Hemlock Rd. Lake Ariel.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am until the time of service.

Interment will be private at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions in Doug’s honor be made to Canaan Christian Academy, 30 Hemlock Rd. Lake Ariel, Pa 18436

Douglas Chapman, 80, of Lake Ariel, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday evening after an illness. His wife, Susan Gregorski – Chapman was by his side, and the couple had been married for 53 years.

Born in Honesdale, Pa, he was the son of the late Raymond and Maybert Jaggars – Chapman. He was a graduate of Lake Consolidated School Class of 1962. After graduation, he entered the United States Army as a mechanic and truck driver. In 1968, he was honorably discharged as SPF4. After the Military, he drove truck for Jones Motor and Locklin Oil. He worked at Shaffer’s Hardware as a small engine mechanic. He was a member of Canaan Bible Chapel, South Canaan.

Doug was an avid motorcyclist but, most of all, he loved the Lord, his family, and his country. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are his daughter April Watt (Stephen) of Clarks Summit; son Doug, “Sam” Chapman (Brooke) of Lake Ariel; sister Sharon Skelton (Larry) of Waymart; grandchildren Kara Hurley (Mike), Matthew, Katie, Raymond, and Karmella Chapman, Paige, James, and William Watt, and Nash Chapman; great grandchildren Bryce and Owen Hurley; many nieces and nephews.
