Private cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, December 28th at 4:30PM in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel officiated by Rev. William Henwood.

Friend may call from 2:00pm until the time of service in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Diane’s memory may be made to Foundation for Cancer Care

Diane Fitz, 73, of Hamlin, AKA “Princess” passed away Friday morning following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Kersey Sr. and Dorothy (Miller) Kersey. Diane was a well-known waitress at John’s Italian Restaurant in Hamlin and a longtime school van driver for the Western Wayne School District.

Diane was a passionate fundraiser and gave back to breast cancer awareness. She enjoyed traveling to different casinos.    She also enjoyed playing practical jokes on people with her best friend Diane Howell.

Surviving are her daughters Amy Stout and husband Mark of Hollistervile and Jodi Deeter of Scranton;  her grandchildren Eric “Golden Child” Olsommer, Brady Olsommer, and Julianna “Nanna” Deeter; nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

Also survived by her brother Frederick Kersey Jr., Greentown.  She was preceded in death by her sisters Patricia and Jeannie.

Private cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
