Wanda A. Christopher, Ledgedale, died Thursday morning at home after a long illness. She was the widow of Leonard P. Christopher who died in 1973.

Born in Dickson City in 1923, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Agnes Markowski Pontosky. She was a member of St Thomas More St Mary’s Parish Community where she was an active parishioner and  faithfully attended Mass at St. Mary’s Church having served as a Eucharistic Minister, Past President of the St. Mary’s Alter and Rosary Society as well as volunteering for numerous activities at both churches.

Surviving are sons Ronald of Maryland and Leonard of New Jersey; a daughter Karen Ammerman of Ledgedale; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Wanda was preceded in death by a son in law Fran Ammerman; brothers Walter, Henry, Anthony and Chester; a sister Helen Gerding.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:30am in St. Mary’s Church, St. Mary’s Church Rd., Ledgedale.

Friends may call Wednesday morning from 9:30am until time of Mass at the church.

Cremation will follow the Mass in the Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.

In lieu of flowers Wanda’s family requests memorial contributions to be made to the St. Mary’s Church PO Box 188 Lake Ariel, Pa. 18436 or to the Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation c/o Compassionate Care Hospice 429 South Main Street, Suite 10, Old Forge, PA 18518.
