Vivian Carmela Fuhlbrugge passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at the Green Ridge Skilled Nursing Facility in Scranton. She was 86 years old.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on March 16, 1929 to the late Joseph and Theresa Izzi, she is survived by her husband of 49 years Wally Fuhlbrugge, a daughter Mary Ellen Corbett, a son Joseph Gagliardo and two step sons, Mark and Stuart Fuhlbrugge; in addition to six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one brother Anthony. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Christine and her son Vincent.

Vivian was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School in Queens, New York, class of 1947. She later worked as a dietitian for the Good Samaritan Hospital in Babylon, New York for a period of eight years. Before retirement she was employed as a bookkeeper for a bank in Pompton Lakes New Jersey, where she and her family also resided. Upon retirement she and her family moved to Wallenpaupack Lake Estates in Ledgedale, PA.

Vivian’s family would like to thank the entire staff of the Green Ridge Skilled Nursing Facility for their excellent treatment and loving care given to her and The Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their compassionate attention shown to her.

Vivian will be remembered as a loving, selfless, gentle person, who never met a stranger, and who always seemed to find a ray of sunshine and goodness in everyone she loved. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be sorely missed.

Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, January 27th, 2016, 1:00 pm, at St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Ledgedale.
