Susan L. Black, 70, of Hollisterville, passed away Wednesday afternoon at home after losing her courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Scranton, she is the daughter of Doris Frisbie – Hemmler of Hollisterville and the late Burton Hemmler. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. Prior to retirement, she worked for Catepillar Logistics in Gouldsboro and was the owner of Black’s Ceramic’s in Moscow. She attended First Baptist Church of Hollisterville.

Susan enjoyed traveling with family, especially her many trips to Lancaster. She was an avid reader and loved to quilt, making quilts for many family members and friends. She also spent many hours gardening and never passed up an opportunity to buy a new plant.

Also surviving is her daughter Christine Black of Hollisterville; son Steven Black of Hollisterville; sisters Barbara Morgan of Springbrook Twp., Judy Jones of Tennessee, and Cathy Sexton of Hollisterville; a brother Rick Hemmler of Clarks Summit; grandchildren Ashley Ritter, Samantha, Thomas, and Nicholas Black; 8 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Private cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory in the James Wilson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
