Ronald C. Rosengrant, Lake Henry, died Saturday in the Geisinger Community Medical Center after an illness.  His wife of  31 years is Penny Burdge Rosengrant.

Born in Lake Ariel, he was the son of the late Walter and Florence Sashe Rosengrant.  Ron was a graduate of the former Lake Consolidated School in lake Ariel.  Ron loved truck driving and was happiest when he was behind the wheel on the open road. During his time as a truck driver he did many cross country runs as well as a regular route to Maryland.  He retired from Bolus Trucking, Scranton.  He was a devoted and active member of the Cortez United Methodist Church where he participated in many of its fundraising efforts.  He was a United States Army veteran.

Ron and Penny were avid campers,  enjoying time at the Ponderosa campground where they were supported and surrounded by their friends.  Ron will be greatly missed by his family and friends, who were truly blessed to have him in their lives.

Surviving are children Rick Rosengrant and his wife Laurie, Dee Minor and her husband David, Jeffrey Rosengrant and his wife Beatrice, Wendell Rosengrant, Roni Shaffer and her husband Dale, Charles Rosengrant and his wife Tracy, and Christopher Rosengrant and his wife Nell; Tammy Grossman and her husband Bob, Wendy Kelly and her husband Tim, John Rhodes III and his companion Ann Sarnowski, and Penny King and her husband Joe; his brother Stewart Rosengrant; grandchildren;  great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; his pride and joy Muffin who he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his grandson Jeffrey Rosengrant, brothers Lloyd, James, Alfred, Harry and Julius Rosengrant and his sister Kathryn Harris

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 AM in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity, Rd. Lake Ariel with services by Rev. Dan Hulse of the Cortez Community Church.  Military honors will be rendered by the United States Army funeral honor guard immediately following religious services.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM and Thursday morning from 10 AM until time of service.

Cremation will follow in the Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
