Robert William Stappert, Sr., 73, of The Hideout, Lake Ariel passed away on Wednesday morning, January 17, 2024 after a brief illness.  Born July 20,1950 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late William Stappert and Margaret Stappert (née Langdon).

Bob was a graduate of Saint Francis College, Brooklyn, and was employed as a Supervisory Special Agent at the Criminal Investigation Division, US Department of Treasury in Newburgh, NY until his retirement. He raised his family in Monroe, NY and retired in the Poconos, where he enjoyed watching the NY Yankees and spoiling his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Virginia Stappert (née Reilly) who passed away in 2020. Surviving are daughters Kimberly Kieva and husband Jason, Patrice Montalto and husband Martin; a son, Robert Stappert and wife Danielle. He adored his grandchildren: Lily, Rileigh, Joseph, Michael, Chelsea, Chloe, Ella and Andrew.

Also surviving are sisters Janet Kiefer and husband Peter, Joan Urban; and his loving in-laws, the Reilly, Comer and Kennedy families; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Loise Johnson, Bob’s loving and dedicated caretaker, for her kindness to him over the past several years.

A Blessing Service will take place at the James Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 6PM.  Friends and Family may call beginning at 4PM until the start of the Service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bob’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society visiting cancer.org/donate.
