Mentz, 79, of Berlin Township passed away on April 12, 2024 at home. He and the former Colleen J. Swisher would have celebrated 58 years of marriage later this year. Born in Chester, PA, he was the son of William A. Mentz and Josephine M. Patrick Mentz and was educated in Pennsylvania Public Schools prior to his career as a printer- primarily with Moore Business Forms prior to their Honesdale plant closure. Richard enjoyed flea markets and auctions, and in later years found great joy in completing jigsaw puzzles. In addition to his beloved wife, Richard is survived by his children Colleen and Eric; Grandchildren Emma-leigh, Jeremy and Jenna; Siblings Judy and Bill; cousins; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a brother, Bob. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A private cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory. A celebration of Richard’s life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
