It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Richard Allen Fiorina, who passed on October 19th, 2015, in Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center with his wife and daughter at his side.

Richard was born in Suffern, NY, lived in Wyckoff, New Jersey for most of his life, and lived the last two plus decades of his life in Pennsylvania.  He  graduated from Ramapo Regional High School in Franklin Lakes, NJ in the Class of 1965.

Richard bravely served our great country in the Army fighting in Vietnam.  He was awarded the following medals and ribbons for his service, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Marksman Medal for the M14, and an Overseas Service Bar before being Honorably Discharged in 1972.

He worked as a frame maker, swimming pool builder, bouncer, truck driver and bar owner.  He graduated 6th in his class from the Trucking Academy and had dreams of owning a red Peterbilt.  He was a big tough guy with a big teddy bear heart.

He married his wife, Virginia in a candlelight ceremony with her five children in attendance.  Their 35th wedding anniversary would’ve been this coming November.

Richard spent most of his free time enjoying the wildlife that surrounds their beautiful home, including his beloved pets, Trouble, JP, Ty-Ty and Muffin, feeding deer by hand and naming each one of them that ate at the trough he so lovingly built.  He truly cherished time shared with friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia; step-sons, Michael, Matthew, and Martin; step-daughters, Malinda and Melanie; son-in-law Steven, grandchildren whom which he was very proud of, Kyle and Dakota; and several cousins.

A service will not be held as per his wishes.

The family asks that no flowers be sent, rather donations be made in his name to the Vietnam Veterans.
