Patricia O’Hara, a resident of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Julio Cocciolone, and her second husband, Robert O’Hara.

She was born in White Plains, New York in 1934 and was the daughter of the late Ernest and Margaret Reedy Bachman. She was a 1951 graduate of St. Gabriel High School in New Rochelle, New York.  She was employed by Joseph E. Seagram until her retirement and move to Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania in 1994.

Patty was a very giving person who loved to help others.  She was active in the Hideout for many years, volunteering her time at St. Thomas More Church and St. Mary’s Church, as well as at the Honesdale and Scranton Hospice. After moving to Florida in 2013, she continued her volunteering with Vero Beach Hospice, where many of her prayer shawls were donated. She enjoyed reading and crafts, and she especially enjoyed social activities such as working at the Food Pantry, cheerleading and being a member of the Welcome Committee in her Acts Retirement Life Community.

Surviving are her four children, Bob Cocciolone of Tampa, FL, Carole Freund (Robbie) of Hailey, ID, Susan Smith (Dan) of Larchmont, NY, and Bill Cocciolone of Kings Park, NY.  Her grandchildren, Alison and Brendan Freund, Melissa Luzzi and Danny Smith Jr, Taylor and Jackson Cocciolone will all miss the often-silly antics of their fun-loving grandmother. Patty was excited to be a great-grandmother to Sonia, Madison, Bennett and Neil.

She leaves behind sisters Mary Michaud from Albuquerque, NM, and Elizabeth Jacobson of Carmichael, CA and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest “Buddy” Bachman.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, August 11th at 11:00am in St. Mary’s Church, 315 St. Mary’s Church Rd. Lake Ariel.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
