Nancy A. Polyi – Stowell

Nancy A. Polyi Stowell, 78, of Hamlin, died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale.

Born in Franklin, New Jersey she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Olga Cherepy Polyi. She was a graduate of Franklin High School and went on to receive her degree in Medical Transcriptions from Elmira Business Institute. She was employed by the Garnet Health Medical Center, formerly Orange County Regional Hospital. She also worked as a beautician.

Nancy loved art and was an amazing painter. She was deeply loved by her family and beloved mother of Jason and Denise.

Surviving is a daughter Denise Vernarec, Hamlin; a sister Susan Polyi; Layfette NJ; a sister-in-law Dolores Polyi, Sussex NJ; and two nephews Tom Polyi and his wife Ellen, Camp Verde AZ; and Joe Polyi and his wife Crystal, and their son Christian, Tobyhanna.

She was preceded in death by her son Jason Vernarec and a brother Joseph Polyi.

Funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family.
