Melisa Jane Miller, 50, of Beach Lake, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, surrounded by her
family.
Born February 23, 1973 in Honesdale, Pa she is the daughter of Cathy Davies – Miller of Beach Lake and
the late Walter Clinton Miller. She was a graduate of Honesdale High School Class of 1991. She attended
the Beach Lake United Methodist Church.
Prior to fulfilling her lifelong dream of being a mother she exceled as a chef at Three Wishes Restaurant.
During her time as a chef, she forged an extra special relationship with her lifelong BUDDY Patsy
Cordaro. Missy and Patsy could be found singing all their favorite songs from the heart, a tradition that
Missy carried back to the entire family at every campfire.
Missy enjoyed the hustle and bustle of friends, family, and fur babies. She valued happiness above all
else and found great joy in entertaining those she loved. She spent hours in the kitchen making
countless meals from the heart. When not in the kitchen, Missy would often be found with a child on
her hip. She had a heart of gold, an unmatched love for children and was “Aunt Missy” to many. She
spent tireless hours planning the perfect crafts and activities for them. Missy was a giver and always the
first to lend a hand to anyone in need. She enjoyed frequenting the local auctions and nothing made
her happier than finding just the right treasure for someone. Her kindness knew no limits and to know
her was to love her.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Thomas Hector; mother, Cathy Miller of Beach Lake,
daughter Nicole Hector of Beach Lake; son Ryan Miller and his significant other Hannah Wood of
Seelyville; step-son Brandon Hector and wife Hannah of Georgia; grandson Jackson Hector; daughters of
the heart, Alyssa Hankins and Alexandria Hankins of Beach Lake; sisters Amy Miller of State College, and
Stacy Miller of Beach Lake; siblings in spirit Richard Miller Jr. and wife Angela of Beach Lake, Robert
Miller of Beach Lake, Douglas Miller of Beach Lake, and Nancy Miller of Lake Ariel; Cousin Kristofer Corey
and wife Melissa; nieces and nephews, Kevin Miller of Cherry Ridge, Ella and Curtis Miller of Beach Lake,
and Dija Betts of Lake Ariel; aunts Shelley Corey and husband Keith of Cherry Ridge and Lori VanHorn of
Beach Lake; best buddy Patsy Cordaro of Beach Lake; and her beloved fur babies Marley, Bandit, Lilly,
and Benji.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm in the James
Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Road, Lake Ariel, Pa 18436 and Friday, September 8, 2023 from
10:00am – 11:00am in the Beach Lake United Methodist Church.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 11:00am in the Beach Lake United
Methodist Church, 7 Milanville Road, Beach Lake, Pa 18405.
Interment, Indian Orchard Cemetery, Indian Orchard.
