Marylou’s greatest love was her children. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed playing games and scratch off tickets.  She will be remembered for her big heart and being there for anyone that needed her. She is loved and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.

Mary Lucy “Marylou” Mentz-Scott, 77, of Lake Ariel passed away on April 29, 2024 after an illness.  Born April 17, 1947 in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Chester Phillip Szymanosky and the former Elizabeth Mae Heater and was a 1965 graduate of North Pocono High School.  Marylou was employed by the North Pocono School District as a bus driver for many years and was loved and respected by the students she brought to and from school.

Mary is survived by her five children Betty Jo Mentz-Herne and significant other Thomas Alt, Robert Mentz, Jr., Denise Hermann, Melinda Scott and Christine Kobetitsch; 17 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Robert Mentz; her second husband Ellis Scott; brothers Chester Szymanosky and James Szymanosky; and niece Amanda Szymanosky.
