Mary Ann Elizabeth D’Andrea McEvoy, 87, previously of Woodloch Springs in Hawley, died December 18, 2015 at Bethany Village following an illness. Her late husband, William D’Andrea, died in 1985 and her late husband, Vince McEvoy, died in 2002. She was also preceded in death by a nephew, William Rinaldi, in 2002.

Born on May 1, 1928 in Dunmore, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Josephine Caputo Gaetano. She graduated Dunmore High School in 1945 and the Penn State School of Beauty Culture in 1946. She was an active member of B.V.M. Queen of Peace Church in Hawley where she was a Eucharist Minister and a Lector.  Her faith was a very important part of her life.

Mary Ann owned and operated Mary Ann’s Beauty Shoppe in Hawley from 1951 through 1985.  In addition, she and husband, Bill, owned the Hawley Health Food Center which opened in 1975 and remained open for 8 years.  In 1986, Mary Ann operated the Beauty Shoppe at Woodloch Pines until she retired in 2004.

Mary Ann loved to paint, play golf, bowl, and she was an avid card player. She had many friends and enjoyed socializing with them.  She got involved in all the activities and events at Woodloch Springs when she was a resident there.  She loved to be on the go and had the great fortune of traveling to many beautiful places in the United States and abroad throughout her lifetime. She loved her family and was especially proud of all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Nick D’Andrea and wife, Barbara, and a daughter, Patti Kiesendahl and husband, John, all of Hawley; a sister, Rosebud Rinaldi of Dunmore; an aunt, Katherine Mecca of Dunmore; a niece, Mary Rinaldi of Dunmore. Grandchildren:  Brian D’Andrea and wife, Liza; Carrie Khan and husband, Cyrus; and Kate D’Andrea , all of California. Brooke James and husband, Mark, of Hawley; Megan Bakerman and husband, Dan, of Whitehouse Station, NJ;  Patrick Kiesendahl and wife, Jenette, of Hawley; and Olivia Kranich of Conshohoken, PA and ten great-grandchildren:  Quincy, Teo, Noelle, Oliver, Emilie, Annie, Nora, Max, Jack, and Elle.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 20th at 10:00 a.m. at B.V.M. Queen of Peace Church 314 Chestnut Ave. Hawley, PA 18428.

Cremation took place in the Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel, PA

Private Interment at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton, PA
