Leon “Lee” Royce, Hamlin, died Thursday afternoon in the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit after an illness.  His wife is Joan Hineline Royce.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Leon and Ida May Evans Royce.  Lee worked as a long distance truck driver and prior to his retirement he had been employed by the City of Scranton DPW as a master mechanic.  Lee was well known for his affiliation with the Moc-A-Tec Raceway where he served as president.   He was a United States Navy veteran.

Also surviving are his children LouAnn Shortridge, Patti Dionne, Alan Royce and LeeAnn Scott; sisters Judy and Barbara; grandchildren; great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother Richard.

Graveside services will be held in the Newton Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
