Katherine Ann Lane, 78, of the Hideout, Lake Ariel died Sunday at home following an illness. Her husband of 40 years is Thomas Lane.

Born in Manhattan, NY, daughter of the late Edison and Peggy Rice, she was a graduate of Horace Greeley High School, New York. She had been employed in the Leonia Borough Tax Office as a bookkeeper. She was past-president of the Hideout Adult Social Club, a member of the Hideout Sportsman Club, the American Legion Auxiliary, and an active member of her church community.

Also surviving are sons Chris and his wife Katie and Douglas and his wife Nicole; a brother Carl Rice and his wife Leslie; sisters Patricia Rice and her husband Steven Kutzer and Jane Preston and her husband Jim; grandchildren Abigail, Isabella, Brennan, Alexandra, Louisa and Jacob.

The family would like to thank the caregivers from HHCP hospice, particularly Alexis, Samantha and Irene for the compassionate care they offered Katherine over the past 10 months.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00am at the Light of Christ Church 2067 Moosic Lake Rd. Mt. Cobb, PA.

Friends may call Friday from 5:00-7:00pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Interment, Avoy Cemetery, Lake Ariel.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army 500 S. Washington Ave. Scranton, PA 18505.
