Joseph A. Christopher, 84, of Lake Ariel, passed away Sunday afternoon in Regional Hospital of Scranton. His wife of 57 years, Marilyn W. Moore – Christopher passed away in 2020.

Born January 3, 1939 in Ledgedale, he was the son of the late Anthony and Elizabeth Garrity – Christopher. He was a graduate of Lake Consolidated School Class of 1957. Following high school graduation, he served his country for two years in the United States Army. Prior to retirement, Joseph worked at Panel Prints in Old Forge for many years. He was a member of the St. Thomas More / St. Mary’s Parish Community.

An avid outdoorsman, Joseph enjoyed hunting, gardening, birdwatching, and fishing at his home on Lake Ariel. He was a proud Notre Dame Football, Philadelphia Phillies, and Nascar fan. Joseph and his brothers spent many days making memories at the family farm in Ledgedale.

Surviving are daughters Deborah Fattori and her husband Francis of Oxford, PA, and Lisa Christopher and her husband Howard Engleman of Burlington, NJ; siblings Edward Christopher of Chittenango, NY, Ann Eisenhauer of Lake Ariel, Marie Malsom of Sterling, and William Chrisotpher of Ledgedale; grandchildren Gabrielle and Francis Fattori, and Lauren Love and her husband Christopher; great grandchildren Mason and Avery Love; many nieces and nephews.

Cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.

A Memorial Service will be held at a future date and time to be announced.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel
