Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the St. Thomas More Church, 105 Gravity Road, Lake Ariel, by the Rev. Stephen J. Stavoy, pastor.

All attending the funeral are invited to go directly to the church.

Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Road, Lake Ariel, PA 18436.

Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ledgedale.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. or the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, FL 33607.

Joseph A. Breier, 74, the Hideout, Lake Ariel, died Tuesday morning at the VA Medical Center in Wilkes – Barre following an illness. His wife of 2 years is the former Brenda Perenza. His first wife of 46 years, the former Nancy Boston passed away in 2015.

Born in Queens, NY., he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Marion Gregorius – Breier. Prior to retirement, he was the owner of Crown Contracting of Long Island, NY and Lake Ariel. He was an active parishioner of the St. Thomas More/St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Parish Community in Lake Ariel. He was a United States Navy Veteran.

He was a faithful and active member of his parish, serving as Lector, Minister of Hospitality and Eucharistic Minister. He was a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus serving many positions for 35+ years.

Also surviving are sons, Joseph Jr. and his wife, Kim of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; and Brandon and his wife, Berica of Brooklyn, N.Y.; grandsons, Daniel, Bryant and Bennett; a brother Michael Breier and his wife Barbara of N. Babylon, NY and many nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a sister Maryann Canecky.
