Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10am in St. Mary’s Church 334 St. Mary’s Church Road, Lake Ariel by Rev. Stephen Stavoy, pastor.

All attending the funeral are invited to go directly to the church.

Friends may call Sunday from 2-5pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Cremation will follow services in the Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

Jerry Kostyshyn, Wallenpaupack Lake Estates, died Wednesday evening in the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit.  His wife of 22 years is Peggy Carroll Kostyshyn who was at his side at the time of his passing.

Born Jaroslaw Kostyszyn in Kiev, Ukraine on November 23, 1940 he and his mother left Kiev and found refuge in Germany until they ultimately immigrated to the United States.  He was a member of the St Thomas More St Mary’s Parish Community.  Prior to his retirement he had been an elevator constructor for 36 years belonging to Local One of New York.  He was also a member of the American Legion Post in Leonardo, New Jersey and the WLE Recreation Committee.  Jerry was very proud to be a United States Army veteran.

Also surviving are daughters Deana Ward and Carmel Maldonado;  stepchildren Suzanne Steers, Kim Garrity, Dr. Jay Mazzella and Paul Mazzella; ten grandchildren.
