Janice R. McManus, 85, of Lake Ariel, passed away Saturday evening at St. Mary’s Villa in Elmhurst. Her husband, Thomas McManus, passed away in 1986.

Born in Gravity, she was the daughter of the late Ruth Brooks. Before retirement, she was a secretary at Pocono Pest.

Janice loved Elvis, gardening, all animals – especially frogs and spending Monday evenings playing badminton with her cousin Diane. She also enjoyed attending country music shows in the late 50s in Jersey City, having her picture taken with the stars, and getting their autographs. She was a long-time member of TOPS.

Surviving are her sons, Thomas McManus and his wife Shawna and Jerry McManus and his wife Mary; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Sherry Nygard; grandchildren Sinead McManus and Nichols Famularo; a brother Kenneth Jones.

The family would like to thank the staff of St. Mary’s Villa for the care they have provided Janice for the last five years.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Twp.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
