Janice E. Chamberlain, 91, of Jefferson Township, passed away Wednesday, September 13th at Oakwood Terrace Assisted Living in Moosic. She was the wife of Henry Edwards until his death in 1966 and Dale Chamberlain until his death in 2009. She is survived by her companion of nine years, Lawrence “Fritz” Edwards of Jefferson Township.

Born in Scranton, Pa, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Hazel Schultz-Sherman. She was a graduate of Columbia High School in S. Orange, NJ. Prior to retirement, Janice worked for South Canaan Telephone Company and Gertrude Hawk Chocolates. She was a life-long member of the Cortez United Methodist Church. Janice was an avid traveler and camper. She enjoyed camping with her family at “Camp Edwards”, Clayton Park, and taking her grandchildren on various trips with her camper. She enjoyed listening to country western music and going to listen to live music whenever she could. She was a member of the Red Hatters and loved attending functions at the Senior Citizen Center each week.

Surviving are her son Albert “P-Jones” Edwards and his wife Linda of Jefferson Township, daughter Robin L. Mayeski and her companion Walter Rosiecki of Jefferson Township, and mommy’s little girl Lisa A. Chamberlain of Scranton; step daughter-in-law Dawn Chamberlain of Lake Ariel; grandchildren Stacy Klemke and her husband Ken of Jefferson Township, Cary Laboranti and her husband Tim of Elmhurst, Todd Edwards of Lake Ariel, Mikie Mayeski of Jefferson Township, Lindsay Croom and her husband J of Moscow; step grandchildren Nate and Josh Chamberlain; great-grandchildren Cobi Edwards, Jake Laboranti, Mia Laboranti, John Croom, James Croom, and Abram Edwards; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her stepsons Allan and Bradley Chamberlain.

The family would like to thank the staff at Oakwood Terrace for their support over the last two years and Home Health Care Professionals Hospice for their comfort and guidance during the last few weeks.
