George “Mac” Allen McMullin, of Wallenpaupack Lake Estates, passed away Friday September 30, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years Bobbie Jean McMullin (nee Gwyn).

Born in Brooklyn, NY, and raised in Queens, he was the son of George and Marian McMullin (nee Opitz). Out of high school, George joined the US Army as a Paratrooper Green Beret, in the 77th Special Forces Psychological Warfare Unit and was stationed in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he met his wife. Together they moved to NY and raised 2 sons. Prior to retirement he worked at A&P as a truck mechanic and truck driver. He loved socializing and playing baseball with his friends, especially if beer or martinis were involved. Once retired, he moved to WLE, which he affectionately called his favorite place in the world. George had a generous heart and loved to volunteer. He spent almost 2 decades volunteering at Moses Taylor hospital in Scranton, he was a founding member of the night watch in Wallenpaupack Lake Estates, he sat on the WLE community board, was a member of the local historic society, and much more. You would often see him taking golf cart rides in the community and enjoying the “country life”. He especially cherished the summers when he was taking care of his “brats”. Everyone George met became his friend.

George is also survived by his sister Carole McMullin of Queens, NY; his son David; his grandchildren (The Brats) Jean Marie McMullin, Tracy Lynn Ramos (Mike), Christopher Allen McMullin, and Kati Blair McMullin; as well as his great-grandchildren Sarah and Grace Ramos; his daughter-in-law Lynn; plus many extended family and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his son, Michael Allen McMullin.
