Martin, 85 of Hawley, passed away Sunday at home following an illness surviving his loving wife of 62 years, the former Ida Petersen. Born in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Frieda Ella Martin. Prior to retirement, he was self-employed and the owner of the Hawley Antique Exchange and Martin Lakefront Cottages. Erich cherished his family, friends and his Vaseline Glass Collection. His love and passion for Vaseline Glass developed into the world’s largest Vaseline Glass collection. Erich was a member of the Vaseline Glass Collectors. Also, surviving are a daughter Dr. Lisa Martin Wiedeman; a son Erich E. Martin and his wife Maureen; grandchildren Sean Martin, Brynne Wiedeman, and Connor Wiedeman. He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph Martin. A Celebration of Life gathering is being planned for October.
