Private cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory in the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.

Blessing Service will be held on Saturday, August 5th at 1:00PM in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Road, Lake Ariel, Pa 18436.

Friends may call from 12:00pm until the time of service.

Ellen Marie Donleavy (nee O’Connell) died peacefully at home on Wednesday August 2, 2023.

Ellen was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, William “Bill” Donleavy on December 31, 2022.

Born to Charles and Helen (nee Opferkuch) O’Connell, in Manhattan, NY. After attending Our Lady of Good Counsel she entered the workforce. When she married Bill and moved to Queens NY, her new career as a mom began, she stayed at home to do the hardest job of all raising four children. When Bill retired they moved to The Hideout, Lake Ariel, PA and eventually Stuart, FL.

Ellen is survived by sons William (Debra) Donleavy of Westtown, NY, Brian Donleavy, Jensen Beach FL, Kevin Donleavy, Middle Village, NY, and daughter Tara Donleavy, Lake Ariel, PA.  She is also survived by four grandchildren William, Meghan, Sean, and Shanna along with eight great-grandchildren Lana, Alice, Mackenzie, Ellie, Jack, Tierney, Madigan and Leni; many nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her brothers Charles and Ronald O’Connell.
