Bronson, Jr. of Sterling died Tuesday at Geisinger Community Medical Center after being stricken ill. His wife of 40 years is the former Denise Shuman. Born in Scranton, son of the late Edward J. and Hettie M. Stevens Bronson, he worked as an electrician for the Thiokol Chemical Corporation in New Jersey and the Honesdale Locker Plant in Honesdale. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Scranton and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and bowling for many years. He also enjoyed reading National Geographic and his cat Tuffy. Also surviving are sisters Shirley Bronson Butler and her husband Barry of Sterling and Elaine Bronson McLain and her husband Timothy of Madison Twp; a sister-in-law Donna Hodorawis and her husband Edward of Waymart, a brother-in-law Jeffrey Shuman and his wife Linda of Honesdale; several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Cremation took place in the Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dessin Animal Shelter 138 Miller Rd.
