Edward Holevinski, Sr. of Jefferson Township, died peacefully at home on February 20th.

Born in 1930 to the late Anthony and Marry Sarnoski – Holevinski, Ed was a local farm boy who met the Love of his life, Florence “Bobbi” Ognosky in elementary school. Following 67 ½ years of marriage, Bobbi preceded him in death in 2018.

A jack of all trades and a master of everything, Ed spent his younger years working at a monk farm and also raising his own mink. In addition to personally building his own house, he worked as a skilled plumber with his brother-in-law Addison Polcha. He was also a sheet metal fabricator, Assistant Superintendent for Penn-Dot, and finally a Foreman for the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike where he was awarded many accolades for exemplary service. For 20 years, he served as the Jefferson Township Tax Collector.

If anything ever broke or someone needed help, Ed was often the first person called. His grandchildren would say, “Call Grandpa, he will fix it, he can fix anything.” Ed’s wife, children, and grandchildren were the most important joys of his life.

He is survived by children Sandra H. Digan and her husband James of Bethesda, MD, Edward C. Holevinski, Jr. and his wife Aimee of Lake Ariel, Matthew Holevinski and his partner Peggy McLaughlin of Sterling, Marie Semian of Jefferson Twp., and Deborah Brooks of Lake Ariel; a fiercely devoted grandfather, grandchildren Wesley J. Holevinski and his wife Kristin, Amanda Holevinski, Jacob Holevinski, Christopher Brooks, Dakota Brooks and his wife Lauren, Zoey Brooks, Matthew Digan, Shane Howe, Alex Howe and his wife Nicole, and Colin Howe; great grandchildren Leona Rampage, Brynlee and Addison Howe; sister-in-law Jeanne Ognosky; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Edward was preceded in death by his beloved little daughter Patricia “Patti” Holevinski; brothers William, Walter, Anthony, John, Thomas, Chester, and Steven Holevinski; sister Helen; son-in-law Bruce Brooks.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00am in St. Thomas More Church. 105 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Friends may call Thursday from 10:00am to 11:00am at the Church.

Interment, All Saints Cemetery, Hollisterville.
