Donna M. Cronkite, 69, of Lake Ariel passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon at Wayne Memorial Hospital following a short illness.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Earl and Elma June Hollister Shaffer, Jr., she was a graduate of North Pocono class of 1971 and she had been employed as a secretary at SCI Waymart from 1975 until her retirement in 2007. She was a member and board member of the JTVFC and enjoyed spending her time around loves ones, especially caring for her many nieces and nephews.

Surviving are her loving son Wes and his fiancé Rachel; brothers David Shaffer and his wife Pam, Donald Shaffer and his wife Colleen all of Jefferson Twp., Dale Shaffer and his wife Roni of Maplewood; sisters Doris Mellan and Dorothy Sohns and her husband Tom all of Scranton; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a brother Dennis Shaffer, Sr.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00am in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Road Lake Ariel with services by Rev. James Hollister.

Friends may call Wednesday from 9:00-11:00am.

Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
