Williams, 80, of Lake Ariel died Tuesday at Commonwealth Hospice at Regional Hospital of Scranton following an illness. He and his wife, the former Alberta Arkow, celebrated their 54th replica watches wedding anniversary in April. Born in Ledgedale, son of the late James and Helena Hanlon Williams, he graduated from Hawley High School, Class of 1951. Don served in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Germany from 1952 to 1956. Don retired from Ford Motor Company, Mahwah, NJ and Platzl Brauhaus, Pomona, NY. He was a member of American Legion Post 178 Murrells Inlet, SC and V.F.W. Post # 5207 Daleville, PA. Don was a true and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by a brother James. Also surviving are a daughter Amelia Gomez and her husband Edward of Eastport, NY; granddaughters Erin, Tara, and Kelly; several cousins. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00am in St. Mary’s Church 305 St. Mary’s Church Rd. Lake Ariel. Anyone attending the Mass is asked to go directly to the Church. Friends may call Monday from 4:00-7:00pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ledgedale. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Commonwealth Hospice of NEPA 746 Jefferson Ave. Scranton, PA 18510.
