A prayer service will be held on Thursday at 11am in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel, Pa 18436

Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 – 7pm at the funeral home.

All attending will be required to wear masks and observe all current CDC and State guidelines concerning the Covid – 19 pandemic.

Private Inurnment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions to be made in Dolores’ Honor to the Hamlin Senior Center, 15 Township Building Rd. Hamlin, Pa 18427.

Dolores Garvin, 80, of Lake Ariel died Sunday evening at Allied Services Hospice Center following a brief illness.

Born, February 2, 1940 in Old Forge, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Anna Jadick Garvin. Dolores retired from the Human Resources Center in Beach Lake in 1996. She went on to become an active member of the Hamlin Senior Center.

Surviving are her friends of nearly 30 years Harry and Eileen Talalas with whom she resided; sisters Ann Valenches and her husband Robert; Mary Aulisio and her husband George; and Grace Aulisio and her husband Joseph; nieces and nephews.

Dolores was considered a member of the Gunning and Talalas families and always enjoyed family and holiday celebrations. Dolores loved to travel, and had visited such places as the Bahamas, Florida, Myrtle Beach, Las Vegas, and frequent visits to New Jersey. Dolores was loved and appreciated by all who knew her.
