Daniel M. Medrano, Sr., 81 of Bushkill, passed away Monday morning at Geisinger Community Medical Center following an illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Jo Ann Lisauskas – Medrano.

Born in Boulogne-Billancourt, Paris, France, he was the son of the late Jerome and Denise Baillard – Medrano. He was always proud to display and speak of his French heritage and his family’s generational ownership of Cirque Medrano, a famous circus in France. As a child, he traveled back and forth from France to the United States. He became a dual citizen in 1962, residing in Beverly Hills and eventually spending thirty-two years in New York City before moving to Bushkill, PA. He was an airman for the U.S. Air Force, having served four-years active duty stationed in Panama, where he learned Spanish by immersing himself in the culture.

Daniel was an entrepreneur, owning a sign shop, two apartment complexes in New York, an owner/operator of a Shell Gas Station in Brooklyn, NY, an owner/operator truck driver, and an award-winning real estate agent. After retirement, Daniel worked as a security officer in Saw Creek Estates and Wal-Mart in East Stroudsburg. Most recently he was a school bus driver for Easton Area School District and elected to the office of Inspector of Elections in the township of Lehman Precinct #2 in Pike County. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in French and Spanish at East Stroudsburg University in 2012.

His true pride and joy were being a husband, father, and grandfather.

Also surviving are his sons Daniel Medrano, Jr. and his wife Theresa of Bushkill, Jason Medrano and his wife Amanda of Jefferson Township, and John Medrano and his wife Rachelle of Jefferson Township; grandchildren Kylie, Daniella, Peyton, Jason Jr. (Petit Prince), Benjamin (Achilles), Amelia, A. Paulette, S. Marcelle, and E. Denise; a nephew Jonathan Medrano.

He was preceded in death by his brother Patrick Medrano.

Private Interment with Military Honors, will be held at Indiantown National Gap Cemetery, Annville, PA.
