All attending are invited to go directly to the church.

Friends may call Thursday from 1-3pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Interment, St Mary’s Cemetery, Ledgedale.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made
in Neil’s memory to the Church of St Thomas More & St Mary’s Churches

Cornelius “Neil” Byrne, Jr., of The Hideout, Lake Ariel, passed away
Monday evening in the Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton, with his family
by his side.  His loving wife of 60 years is the former Patricia
McGough.

Born in 1933 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Cornelius, Sr
and Florence Stone Byrne.  He was educated in Brooklyn schools and went
on to attend St John’s University.  Neil had a 40 year career with JP
Morgan in New York when he retired in 1991 and moved to Lake Ariel.   A
man of deep faith he was a devoted member of the St Thomas More St
Mary’s Parish Community where he volunteered for the food pantry, was a
member of the hospitality team as well as a member of the Knights of
Columbus.

Also surviving Neil are his daughter Patricia Chestnut (nee Byrne) and
her husband Paul Chestnut, his son Kevin Byrne and his wife Corinna
Byrne (nee O’Sullivan).

He is also survived by 5 loving grandchildren whom he was immensely
proud of, David Chestnut, Kathryn Chestnut, Meghan Byrne, Matthew Byrne
and Elizabeth Byrne.

He was also preceded in death by his brother Raymond Byrne, of San
Rafel, CA, and his sister Dorothy Lashinsky (nee Byrne) of Cornwell, PA
