Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00am in the Sterling United Methodist Church by Rev. Kelly Groves.

Friends may call Friday in the church from 10:30am until the time of the service.

Interment, Fairview Memorial Park Elmhurst.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Sterling Historical Society or the donor’s choice of Animal Shelter.

Clara A. McLain, Sterling, passed away Sunday afternoon in the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit after an illness. She was the widow of Richard A. McLain who died in 1995.They were married for 45years. Rich was her anchor.

Born January 18 1933 in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Rose Malcolm and was a member of the Sterling United Methodist Church. Prior to her retirement she had been employed as a seamstress and at RCA in Scranton.

She enjoyed being outside mowing her grass, and various gardening She also enjoyed traveling to Florida with her husband.
Clara was a woman with a virtuous soul, who guided her family with her beliefs.She went above and beyond for her loved ones
with a resilient heart

Also surviving are her daughter Linda Mailen, grandchildren Richard A McLain III, Grant McLain, Ryne Mailen, and his wife Lauren, and son Sammy, great grandchild Kennedy McLain, sister Rose Marie, Joseph Bruno, family friend, nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her son Richard A McLain Jr, son in law Paul Mailen, brother Thomas Malcolm.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit for the love and care that was shown to Clara and our entire family.
