Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 28 th at 6pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143
Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel, Pa.

Friends may call from 4pm until the time of service.

Military honors will be rendered by the United States Marine Corps Funeral Honor Guard.

Private cremation took place at the Lake Region Crematory in the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake
Ariel.

Chester (Butch) J. Grodack, Jr., 82, of Lake Ariel, passed away Thursday morning at his home. His loving
wife of 57 years is the former Carole Abraham – Grodack.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Chester and Helen Lesso – Grodack. He was a graduate of
Dunmore High School Class of 1958. Prior to retirement, he was the owner of Gro – Son, Inc., a
commercial refrigeration and mechanical contracting company. He was a Veteran of the United States
Marine Corps and a member of the Lake Ariel United Methodist Church.

When Butch wasn’t busy working he was involved in many organizations: United States Selective Service
System Local Board Member, long time member of the American Legion, Secretary of the Lake Township
Planning Commission, Western Wayne School Board Director, member of the Upper Delaware Valley
Truckers and Northeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Antique Truck Club of America, Eagle Scout of
Dunmore Troop 22, Assistant Scout Master for Troop 102 Lake Ariel and Troop 111 Waymart, Salem
Masonic Lodge #330, and the Pennsylvania Wayne-Pike County Farm Bureau.

You could always find Butch in his shop working on antique trucks, cars and heavy equipment. He loved
teaching his grandchildren the tools of the trade.

Also surviving are his daughters Kimberly Grodack of Lake Ariel, Cindy Boyd and her husband Samuel of
East Syracuse, NY, and Alexis Goldman and her husband Michael of Lake Ariel; a son Shane Grodack and
his fiancé Lisa Bell of Lake Ariel; a sister Clare Wagner of Clinton, NY; grandchildren Rachel and
Alexandra Butler, Abigail Boyd, Zoey and Jared Goldman, Ethan and Jacob Grodack; many nieces and
nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother Robert B. Grodack.
