Cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for immediate family only at St. Thomas More Church.  A celebration of her life will be held for all friends and family at a future date to be determined.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Hamlin Senior Center PO Box 278 Hamlin, PA 18427.  Checks should be made out to the Wayne County Area Agency on Aging or WAAA.

Charlotte Gershey, 93, of Lake Ariel, passed away Sunday afternoon at Julia Ribaudo Extended Care Center. Her husband of 60 years, Joseph Gershey passed away June 6, 2008.

Born November 2, 1927 in Jessup, she was the daughter of the late John and Beatrice Bidwell Krisovitch. She attended Salem Vocational School and Lake Vocational High School. She and her husband moved to Caldwell NJ in 1954 and raised their family there.  They spent 32 years in New Jersey and then returned to the Lake Ariel – Hamlin area.

She was a member of the St. Thomas More / St. Mary’s Parish Community. Prior to retirement, she worked for Hudson Pharmaceuticals in West Caldwell, NJ, and Haven Enterprises in Mt. Cobb. Charlotte enjoyed retirement and was an active member of the Hamlin Senior Center.

Charlotte was the happiest when she was surrounded by her friends and family. Her warm smile and sweet demeanor radiated off her and onto others. Her passion was gardening which was obvious by the vibrant flowers that would blossom year after year. Charlotte was full of life, laughter and an endless amount of love.

Surviving is her daughter Barbara Gershey Lawshe and her fiancé Matthew Watkins of Lords Valley PA; a son Joseph J. Gershey and his wife Judy of Bridgewater NJ; grandchildren Matthew Gershey and his wife Shannon, Jessica Jackson and her husband Neil, Eric Gershey, and Maureen Lawshe; great grandchildren Christian DeAngelo, Logan Gershey, and Theodore Jackson, and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by sisters Dorothy Snitzer, Mary Heib, Catherine Smith, Clara Krisovitch; brothers James, Thomas, John, Michael, and Edward Krisovitch.
