Bennyray S. Lowman (“Buddy”), of Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania, formerly of Babylon, New York, died Friday evening at the VA Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre following an Illness.
Born in Columbia, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Roy and Ouida Atkins Lowman. Prior to retirement he was the owner of Buddy Lowman Painting in Lindenhurst, NY. He was a US Navy Veteran.
Buddy was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was active in his community, serving as a leader of Cub Scouts and the Lions Club. He lived for the outdoors, being an avid hunter, shooter, boater and fisherman. He also enjoyed woodworking.
Buddy is survived by Catherine Popadynec Lowman, his wife of 51 years. Also surviving are his sons Richard Lowman and his wife Michelle of Wantagh, NY, Michael Lowman and his wife Ginger of Ashburn, VA, and Roy Lowman and his wife Donna of Florence, SC; grandchildren Lance, Alex, Jack, Ashton, and Lacy; great granddaughter Anna Lee; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters Royenna Smith and Sussie Mae Long.
Private Cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
