Beni Carapella

November 2, 2021

Beni Carapella of Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday evening at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart. He is survived by his wife, Sandra, to whom he was married for 55 years.

Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1938, to the late George and Raffaella Carapella, he was the seventh of ten children. At a young age he began working in the family business as a shoemaker. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army as well as a proud member of the NYPD stationed in the 78th Precinct in Brooklyn.

Beni is also survived by his daughter, Andrea Rendo, her husband Todd and their children Mackenzie and Nathaniel; as well as his son Steven and many adored nieces, nephews and godchildren.

Beni was a strong and caring man, husband, father and Pop Pop.  He loved his family and friends strongly and deeply. He was that “go-to” guy who everyone knew they could turn to when they needed help or advise.  He glowed and exuded excitement and joy watching his grandchildren play their favorite sports.  He enjoyed nothing more than being surrounded by family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00am in St. Thomas More Church 105 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Friends may call Sunday 4:00-7:00pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel
