Angelo Pozza, 87, South Canaan, passed away Sunday night in the Allied Services Hospice Center after suffering a stroke.

Born 1936 in Eynon, he was the son of the late Angelo and Priscilla Bianchi Pozza and was a graduate of the Waymart Consolidated School.  Angelo was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Waymart.  He was very proud to work alongside his family in their family businesses Red Maples Golf Course and Pozza Floral.  He also farmed for many years.

Angelo was a generous, kind, and charitable man who will be missed.

Surviving are his sister Lorraine Bannon and her husband James, Sr; nephews David Pozza and James Bannon, III; nieces Carole Pozza Sickler, Diane Pozza and Renee Chernin; great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Grace Pozza.

He was also preceded in death by his sister Susan Pozza; brothers Armando “Mugsy” and Joseph and his wife June; nephews Gary and Randy Pozza and James Bannon, Jr.

Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2pm in the Canaan Corner Cemetery, Waymart with Deacon Edward Kelly officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the St. Joseph’s Center 2010 Adams Ave. Scranton, PA 18509

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
