Gary Charles Swingle, of Dickson City, passed away Saturday afternoon following an illness. His wife of 43 years is the former Nancy Ann Svetlovics.

Born in Hollisterville, he was the son of the late Charles and Elsie Beavers Swingle. He was a graduate of the Lake Consolidated School Class of 1964. Prior to retirement he was employed by Tobyhanna Army Depot. Gary was a United States Navy Veteran.

Gary enjoyed camping and attending his grandchildrens events.

Surviving are his children Edward Swingle of Mechanicsburg, Tracy Rhodes of Lake Ariel, Andrea Fryzel and her husband Jim of Sterling, and Jennifer Nicholson and her husband Dave of Dickson City; sisters Glenda Hoover of Hollisterville, Nancy Emerson of Madisonville, Judy Anderson of Florida, Penny Wilson of Nevada, and Elsie Howard of Florida; grandchildren Veronica, Austin, Johnny, Ashley, Christopher, Hannah, and Jr; a great-granddaughter Charlotte; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Alicia Fryzel and a brother Dennis Swingle.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00am in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel, Pa with Rev. William Henwood officiating.

Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00pm.
