Frieda Vetrone, 86, of the Hideout, Lake Ariel, PA passed away peacefully Friday evening at Regional Hospital of Scranton following an illness. Her husband was the late Gene E. Vetrone who passed away in 2011.

Frieda was born in Kaufbeuren, Germany to the late George and Anna Walter. She met her husband while he was in the US Army stationed in Germany during the Korean war. She was a homemaker and worked as a quality control inspector for an electronics manufacturing company. She enjoyed knitting, reading, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are a son Gene J. Vetrone of Whitehouse Station, NJ; a daughter Cindi Vetrone of Knoxville, TN; a foster son Richard Chirip of Oak Ridge, TN.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Patrick Murnin of Lake Ariel, PA and the hardworking men and women at Julia Ribaudo’s nursing home for their support in her final days.

Funeral service and burial will be held at 11:00 AM on May 25, 2017 in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
