Daniel K. Lewis, of Waymart, died Wednesday afternoon at Wayne Memorial Hospital following an illness. His wife of 43 years is the former Cathy Frey. Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late John R. and Betty A. Swingle – Lewis. He was a 1970 graduate of Waymart High School. For the past 21 years, Dan has worked in Building Maintenance for the Luzerne County Housing Authority. He was a member of the Crosspoint Bible Church in Honesdale. Dan loved spending time with his family, and could walk a baby all day with a smile on his face. He also enjoyed hunting, guns, tools and tractors. Also surviving are daughters Adrianne Filkovsky of South Canaan and Joanna Swingle of Lake Ariel; a son Jason Lewis and his wife Mary of Jefferson Twp.; a sister Susan Schweinsburg and her husband David of South Canaan; brothers John Lewis and his wife Darlene of Clinton Twp., Howard Lewis and his wife Donna of Martin, TN, and Ray Lewis and his wife Cheryl of South Canaan; grandchildren Joseph, Katelyn, Waylon, Wyatt, Sasha, Riley, Laila, Paxton, Carter, and Jacob; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 12:00pm in the Light of Christ Church, 2067 Moosic Lake Rd., Jefferson Township by Dan’s brother-in-law Stanley E. Frey, III.
