Gouverneur Hoeppner, 62, of Swoyersville, passed away March 26, 2021, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital due to natural causes. Gouv was born in San Francisco, California. He was the son of George J. and LaVerne Hoeppner, both deceased. He attended Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, and Wilkes-Barre Area Vo-Tech for electronics. He earned an Associate Degree of Social Science in 1979. Gouv served four years in the United States Air Force specializing in integrated avionics systems. The defining point in Gouv‘s life started in March of 1985, when he joined WVIA TV. For over 30 years he was an integral member of the technical and engineering team at “44”. He was truly part of the WVIA family. Never married, he is survived by his sister–in–law Linda “Auntie”; brothers Kevin and wife Jeannie; Randy; and nieces Amy, Tracy, and Erica. He was preceded in death by his oldest brother, Jerry. Private services will be conducted by family.
