Vera L. Lewis, 106 of Rockford, IL, died peacefully in her sleep Monday evening at the Julia Ribaudo Extended Care Center in Lake Ariel. Born January 18, 1914 in Omaha, NE, she was the daughter of the late Abraham and Virginia Robinson Danner. Vera was born and raised in Omaha, NE, spent a lot of her adulthood in Sioux City, IA and settled in Rockford, IL before relocating to PA to be near her granddaughter, Tamala Reynolds. Prior to retirement she was employed as a domestic worker. Granny Vera, as she was lovingly called, looked forward to every one of her birthdays and was proud to declare she lived a life of no regrets. Vera leaves behind four grandchildren, Todd Lynn Reynolds, Sioux City, Tamala Lorraine Reynolds, Bushkill, PA, Terrence Lorenzo Reynolds and his wife Nicole, Sioux City and Tyler Lathaire Reynolds, Fort Madison, IA, Pamela Sheikman, Shrewsbury, MA, (to whom she was a second mother), twenty-one great grandchildren and thirty-four great, great grandchildren, a host of Danner family cousins and many, many dear loved ones and friends. Vera was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Garrison of Sioux City, IA, and her life partner Tyler Horton. Private cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel. Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel, Pa.
