John “Richie” Lauda, 83, of Wallenpaupack Lake Estates, Lake Ariel died Monday morning at Allied Services Hospice Center following an illness. His loving wife of 59 years is the former Catherine Christie. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Sophie Lewandowski Lauda. Prior to retirement in 2001, he was a Teletype on Wall Street for Lehman Brothers. He was a member of the St. Thomas More / St. Mary’s Parish Community, VFW Post 107 in Brooklyn, NY, and the Hamlin American Legion Post 807, Hamlin. A United States Air Force Veteran, he served in both the Korean War and Vietnam War. Also surviving are two daughters Donna Sullivan and her husband Stephen of Long Island, NY, and Carol Lauda and her companion Steven Lozon of Lake Ariel; grandchildren Ross Lauda and his wife Tina, Christine Pulgrano and her husband Michael, Michael Sullivan, and Arthur Sullivan; great-grandson Connor Lauda; and future great-granddaughter Sofia Pulgrano.
