Robert J. Grosso, Sr., The Hideout, Lake Ariel, passed away Sunday evening in the VNA Hospice Inpatient Unit at the Geisinger Community Medical Center after an illness. His wife of 56 years is the former Constance “Connie Diodate. Born 1936 in the Bronx, New York, Robert was the son of the late Alfonso and Angelina Abitabile Grosso. He was of the Catholic faith. Prior to his retirement he had been employed by the United Technologies Company as a distribution manager in New York City and had also owned and operated a service station in the Bronx. He was an active member of the Hideout Sportsman’s Club as well as a lifetime member of the NRA. He loved to hunt and fish. Also surviving are a daughter Doreen Carroll and her husband Kevin of the Bronx; sons Robert, Jr. of Lyons Falls, New York and Scott and his wife Jackie of Mahopac, New York; a sister Maria Mastrachio; grandchildren Kristen, Sara, Zachery and Shelby; two nieces Angela and Laura. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10am in St. Thomas More Church, 105 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel celebrated by Fr. Stephen Stavoy, pastor of the St Thomas More St Mary Parish Community. Friends may call Thursday morning from 8:45am untiltime of Mass at the church. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ledgedale. |
