Paul J. Borowski, Sr., 73, of Lake Ariel died Sunday at Regional Hospital of Scranton following an illness. His wife of 53 years is the former Frances L. Kukoy.
Born in Carbondale, son of the late John E. and Genevieve Boots Borowski, he was a graduate of the Lake Consolidated School Class of 1960. He was a member of St. Thomas More Church and was a Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Joseph P. McDonough Council #7403, Lake Ariel. Prior to retirement he worked as a lineman for PP&L for 37 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served on the U.S.S. Kaskaskia during the Cuban Missle Blockade.
Surviving are a son Paul, Jr. and his wife Andrea of S. Canaan; a daughter Marie Klinikowski and her husband Norman of Ephrata, PA and Suzanne M. Sloan of Lake Ariel; a sister Natalie Palkovic; brothers John E. Borowski, Jr. and Dr. Gregory Borowski; grandchildren Kristin, Kimberly, Eric, Paul III, and Emily; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister Carol Siepiela and a son-in-law Thomas Sloan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 am at St. Thomas More Church, 105 Gravity Rd., Lake Ariel.
Anyone planning on attending the Mass is asked to go directly to the Church.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 pm at the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Rd., Lake Ariel.
Interment with military honors in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow.
