Kenneth “Butch” W. Nichols, 67, South Canaan, died Friday in VNA Hospice Inpatient Unit at the Geisinger Community Medical Center after an illness. His wife is the former Cindy Hoffman. Born in Johnson City, New York he was the son of the late Kenneth R. Nichols and Barbara Mary Gordon Nichols Enslin and step son of Charles W. Enslin. He attended Waymart High School and prior to his retirement he had been employed for 30 years as an aluminum fabricator for the JA Reinhardt Company. Ken was a United States Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Ken was a wonderful husband, father and brother. He was an avid sportsman who loved hunting and fishing. He will be dearly missed. Also surviving are a son Joshua of South Canaan; sisters Martha Dymond and her husband Ralph of Napanoch, New York and Ruth Enslin Johnson and her husband Albert of South Canaan; a brother Charles F. Enslin and his companion Linda Klim of South Canaan; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews. As per Butch’s request there will be no viewing or services.
