Merle Ed Ankrom

Merle E. “Ed” Ankrom of Waymart died Thursday at Creekside Health and Rehab Center following an illness. His wife is the former Darlene Shaffer.

He was born in Mooreland, IN and prior to retirement he had worked as a truck driver for Snyder Transportation.

Also surviving are sons Edward Ankrom and his wife Michelle and Monty Ankrom all of New Castle, IN; a step-daughter Nicole Treshnik and a step-son Brian Treshnik both of Lake Ariel; a sister Mary Currant of New Castle, IN; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son Jerry Ankrom; a grandson Jeremy Ankrom; 1 sister; 5 brothers.

Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00-7:00pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Cremation took place in the Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
