Larry A. Pitchford, Honesdale, formerly of Pompano Beach, Fl., passed away Monday morning in the Ellen memorial Care Center after an illness. Born 1936 in Ohio, Larry went on to be an accomplished professional wrestler and musician. His wrestling prowess afforded him the opportunity to travel the world wrestling in front of countless fans. His wrestling career began in 1963 touring the Philippines as “Eric the Golden Boy.” He was soon given the name of “Beauregarde” by fellow wrestler Ripper Collins. Beauregarde was renowned for his unique wrestling moves including his finishing move “The Thumb” and the crazy characters he created for himself. In 1971, he released an album bearing his name featuring Greg sage of Wipers on guitar. After his retirement from wrestling and music he bought a sheet-rock company on Pompano Beach Florida where he lived and spent most of his time fishing. Surviving are his dear friend and caretaker Robert Zabady, RN and his wife Terry of Hamlin and countless friends and admirers. Funeral services and interment will be private.
