Steven Delbert Samson, 66, of Simpson, PA, passed away Friday, May 19, 2023 at home, surrounded by family.
Steve’s early life interests included: Boy Scouts, family camping trips, high school soccer and band, and working on both his small family farm, and a nearby dairy farm. In the formative years Steve also took an active interest in biblical Christianity. And one of his recurring end-of-life thoughts was “Thy will be done.”
He worked most of his adult life as a maintenance worker at Wayne Woodlands Manor where he formed many lifelong friendships. He most recently worked at ITI Cargo where he continued to build valued friendships with his colleagues. He enjoyed Nascar and attended many races to see his favorite driver, Michael Waltrip. Steve also very much enjoyed being in nature and took an active interest in both hunting and fishing. He was very passionate about cooking and was constantly coming up with new recipes in the kitchen. And while food nourished his body, music fed his soul. Steve spent his life sharing his passions with others whether it be cooking someone a good meal, attending a Nascar race, or simply dancing in the kitchen! His greatest enjoyment in life was spending quality time with those around him.
Steve is survived by his wife, Rose (Principal) Samson; two daughters from prior marriages, Stephanie (Samson) Dellomo, and Emily (Samson) Zeiler; 3 stepchildren, Mariah Frable, Mary Jane Frable, and Dakota Connolly; 8 grandchildren: Seth, Gavin, Jackson, Dawson, Lincoln, Ava, Jayce, and Calvin; and by four siblings: Cindy Snyder; and Scott, Don, and Ted Samson. He is preceded in death by his daughter Shannon Samson and 3 brothers, Jerry, Jeff, and Dave Samson.
Per Steve’s wishes, his ashes will be interred in the woods of the family property where he grew up in Lake Ariel (aka ‘The Ox-Yoke Ranch’), where he spent many happy hours in childhood, and which often served as his adult life retreat. Family and friends are invited to attend a remembrance ceremony and celebration of life at 2:00p, Saturday, June 10th, at 155 Samson Road, Lake Ariel.
